About the Role
We’re hiring a 3D Printer Service Technician to support, maintain, and troubleshoot our fleet of CreatBot 3D printing solutions and SLA 3D printers. This role is hands-on and ideal for someone who enjoys solving mechanical and technical problems while working directly with 3D printing hardware.
This position is open to all education and skill levels, but prior 3D printing experience is required. CAD skills are a bonus, not a requirement.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for keeping printers running reliably and customers/users supported.
- Diagnose and repair issues across mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software-related printer problems
- Perform preventative maintenance, calibration, and reliability checks
- Handle extruder/hotend, motion system, bed leveling, and temperature control troubleshooting (FDM)
- Support SLA workflows, including resin handling, vat/film care, exposure issues, and post-processing support
- Provide setup and commissioning for new printers (initial calibration, test prints, workflow verification)
- Maintain service documentation: service logs, parts used, issue summaries, and resolution steps
- Help optimize print quality through parameter tuning (materials, profiles, supports, orientation)
- Coordinate with operations/sales/support to ensure timely resolution of service requests
- Follow safety practices for electrical work, heated components, tools, and (where applicable) resin handling and PPE
Our 3D Printing Solutions You’ll Support
CreatBot 3D Printing Solutions (FDM/FFF)
You’ll work with professional-grade CreatBot systems and their typical use cases, including:
- Large-format printing for prototypes and functional parts
- Dual-extrusion / multi-material workflows (support materials, material combinations)
- High-temperature / engineering material printing (where applicable)
- Printer operations involving:
- nozzle and feeder maintenance
- extrusion calibration and flow tuning
- bed leveling, adhesion troubleshooting, and surface prep
- motion system checks (belts, pulleys, linear rails/rods, alignment)
SLA 3D Printers (Resin)
You’ll support SLA printer operation and maintenance such as:
- Print consistency troubleshooting (exposure, layer adhesion, failures)
- Consumable and wear-item handling (resin vat maintenance, films, build platform care)
- Cleaning and post-processing workflows support (as applicable to your environment)
- Safe handling, storage, and cleanup practices for photopolymers (PPE, ventilation, spill response)
Required Qualifications (Must-Have)

Hands-on 3D printing experience (required)
- FDM/FFF and/or SLA experience is acceptable; both is a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot print failures and explain root causes clearly
- Comfortable using basic tools (hex keys, calipers, cutters, multimeter if applicable)
- Able to follow written procedures and document work accurately
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset
Education: Open to all education levels. No specific degree required.
Bonus Skills (Nice-to-Have)
- CAD skills (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Onshape, Rhino, etc.)
- Slicer expertise (e.g., Cura, PrusaSlicer, Simplify3D, or equivalent)
- Experience with firmware/configuration workflows (profiles, parameter tuning, machine settings)
- Light electronics experience (connectors, sensors, wiring, stepper/driver basics)
- Experience training others on 3D printer operation and maintenance

- Service tickets are resolved quickly with clear documentation
- Users/customers feel supported and confident using CreatBot and SLA systems
- Downtime is minimized through preventative maintenance and smart troubleshooting
