Marketing & Design Internship

OVERVIEW

Texas Book Festival internships offer valuable opportunities to work closely with the team behind the state’s largest literary celebration. Each intern reports to specific staff members who guide interns through hands-on experience in helping to make year-round programs and the annual flagship event successful.

Internships require a commitment of 10 hours per week. Interns usually work in-office for one five-hour shift and remotely for a second five-hour shift each week. All TBF interns, including spring and summer interns, are required to work the Gala (November 13, 2026) and Festival Weekend (November 14–15, 2026). Thus, applicants who can guarantee their availability will be prioritized in the selection process. Interns may be asked to assist with occasional after-hours literary events, with duties including event setup, registration, and clean-up.

Internships must be scheduled during Texas Book Festival’s operating hours (Monday through Friday, 9 AM through 5 PM). Interns receive a $1000 stipend in two to three disbursements over the course of their internship. Youth Programs interns receive an additional $1000 stipend for continuing their fall internship through the spring semester.

Fall internship opportunities for Event Production, Marketing & Design, Communications & PR, and Operations are now open; Fall internships span twelve weeks from late August to mid-November.
