Assistant Teacher (Preschool)

25–29 hours per week | $20.90–$22.17 DOE/DOQ

At our Anacortes Family Center, we're looking for an Assistant Teacher who wants to do more than just "watch kids"-someone who wants to help shape how they see the world. This is a place where questions are encouraged, imaginations run wild, and small wins (like zipping a coat or sharing a toy) feel like big victories.

You'll work alongside a Lead Teacher and a supportive team to create a preschool environment where children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn. Some days are messy. Some are loud. All of them are meaningful.

In this role, you'll help guide daily routines, support play-based learning, and build strong, caring relationships with children and families. You'll be part of those "lightbulb moments" when something finally clicks-and the steady presence that helps kids feel confident enough to try.

We're looking for someone who is patient, dependable, and genuinely enjoys being around young children. You don't need to have years of experience-we can help with training-but you do need a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and a desire to make a difference. You must be at least 21 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be eligible to work in a licensed early learning setting.

We provide required training and certifications if needed, along with sick and vacation accrual, paid closure days, and access to a 401(k) plan.
