ASL Interpreter

Now Hiring: ASL Interpreters for the Upcoming 2026-2027 School Year in Northern California

Locations: Multiple K–12 School in Lodi & Stockton, California
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Full-Time (40 hours)
Compensation: Competitive weekly pay (rate varies by experience)

About the Role:
We are seeking skilled and committed American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters to support communication access for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students in K–12 educational settings. In this role, you will facilitate clear, accurate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers to promote academic success and an inclusive learning environment.

This position plays a vital part in ensuring every student has equitable access to instruction and school activities.

Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school events using American Sign Language (ASL)
- Support communication between Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing students and school personnel
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards
- Adjust interpretation style to match student needs and instructional context
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to promote student success
- Accurately document services according to district requirements


Minimum Requirements:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Interpreting, Deaf Studies, or a related field (preferred)
- State Board of Education Initial Sign Language Interpreter Certificate (as applicable)
- EIPA certification as required by state regulation or client request
- RID certification as applicable per state or contract requirements
- Compliance with all professional standards of practice
- Current CPR certification (if applicable)
- TB questionnaire, PPD test, or chest X-ray (as required)
- Current health certificate per state/contract requirements
- Must meet all federal, state, and local regulations
- Must be at least 18 years of age
