HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION
The Dish Washer performs all job assignments with a positive attitude that supports San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance's mission and vision of saving species worldwide by uniting our expertise in wildlife care and conservation science with our dedication to inspiring passion for nature and leading the fight against extinction. The Dish Washer under supervision, operates dishwashing machine; cleans pots, pans and kitchen utensils. This position reports to Retail Management.

Positions in this class are assigned to a restaurant and perform a variety of semi-routine tasks under supervision.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Operates and cleans washing machine
  • Washes pots, pans, utensils and kitchen appliances
  • Removes dishes from bus tubs
  • Maintains work area in a clean, orderly and safe condition
  • Assists other kitchen personnel as necessary. Stocks and rotates inventory
  • Assures functionality of appropriate dishwashing equipment.

JOB EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Food Handler's Card within 30 Days required

     

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of:

  • Cleaning and unloading, dishwashing machine desirable 

Ability to:

  • Operate the dishwashing machine 
  • Understand and carry out verbal and written instructions 
  • Work safely in fast pace environment

  • Position Type: Hourly Part-Time Non-Exempt Union Position - If selected, there will be fees and dues to be paid to the union
  • Hourly Rate: $19.50
