Peptide Research Intern
OVERVIEW
LuvionBio is seeking a highly motivated, research-driven intern to support advanced projects in peptide science, product innovation, and industry safety standards. This role is designed for a graduate-level student or early-stage scientific professional who wants meaningful exposure to an emerging and fast-growing area of science.
The intern will work directly on projects with real strategic value, including the development of differentiated peptide blend concepts and the advancement of a rigorous testing framework for evaluating peptide safety, potency, and manufacturing quality. This is not a passive internship — the work is intended to contribute to initiatives with long-term commercial, scientific, and publication potential.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Current graduate student, doctoral student, or highly qualified upper-level student in PharmD, PhD, MS, or related scientific training
- Background in pharmacy, biochemistry, pharmacology, molecular biology, chemistry, biotechnology, biomedical sciences, or related disciplines
- Strong interest in peptide science, translational research, drug development, and scientific innovation
- Highly analytical, intellectually curious, and capable of independent research
- Strong scientific writing, literature review, and critical thinking skills
- Motivated by work with publication, commercial, and long-term scientific relevance
PRIMARY PROJECTS
Project 1 — Novel Peptide Blend Research & Development
The intern will support the conceptual development of proprietary peptide blend ideas designed for research and development applications. This project focuses on identifying peptide combinations with complementary mechanisms, evaluating gaps in current options, and developing differentiated concepts that may support future commercial research products and longer-term translational pathways.
- Reviewing scientific literature on emerging, underutilized, or promising peptides
- Identifying peptides with complementary mechanisms or synergistic research value
- Organizing candidate peptides by function, pathway, mechanism, and research relevance
- Evaluating blend rationale for specific research indications with limited existing solutions
- Supporting formulation-level thinking around compatibility, stability, and differentiation
- Helping develop research-backed product concepts that may support future IND-related planning
Project 2 — Advancing Peptide Safety, Potency & Testing Standards
The intern will also work directly with the founder on broader scientific initiatives focused on improving transparency and reducing uncertainty in the peptide industry. This work supports the development of a more holistic framework for evaluating peptide quality — including safety, potency, and manufacturing quality indicators that go beyond conventional certificates of analysis.
- Researching known and potential hazards associated with peptide products
- Identifying common limitations in existing testing practices and industry standards
- Evaluating contamination and quality risks including endotoxins, residual impurities, degradation products, sequence issues, oxidation, and aggregation
- Reviewing advanced analytical and biological testing methodologies that could strengthen peptide evaluation
- Helping develop a practical framework for defining safety, potency, and manufacturing quality in a defensible way
- Supporting scientific documentation that may contribute to publication or industry standard-setting efforts
WHAT MAKES THIS INTERNSHIP DIFFERENT
- Direct exposure to a fast-moving sector within peptide research and development
- Contribution to projects with real downstream impact — not academic busywork
- Potential involvement in publishable scientific work tied to emerging industry standards
- Close collaboration with the founder on high-level scientific and strategic initiatives
- Opportunity to help shape product concepts and frameworks influencing a rapidly growing market
MENTORSHIP & STRATEGIC EXPOSURE
The selected intern will work closely with the founder on scientific and product strategy initiatives — including exposure to how scientific research can inform commercial differentiation, long-term brand positioning, and future development pathways. This role is particularly well-suited for someone who wants to understand not just the science itself, but how scientific insight translates into real-world product direction, quality frameworks, and long-term industry influence.
POTENTIAL OUTCOMES & VALUE TO THE INTERN
- Meaningful authorship or acknowledgment opportunities on publication-oriented work where appropriate
- Direct contribution to original scientific and product development initiatives
- Exposure to high-level thinking around peptide formulation, translational development, and quality systems
- Experience working at the intersection of science, innovation, and commercialization
- A body of work that stands out meaningfully on a CV or future academic and industry applications
COMPENSATION
- Compensation will be discussed based on experience, credentials, and availability
- Performance-based bonus opportunities may be available for exceptional contributions
- For candidates who make a material contribution to high-value initiatives, additional incentive structures may be considered
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Scientifically sharp and capable of going deep into primary literature
- Comfortable operating independently with limited handholding
- Excited by the idea of building something new rather than joining a prebuilt system
- Interested in meaningful scientific contribution — not just resume padding
- Motivated by the chance to work on projects with both scientific and real-world relevance
