About the Campaign
We are currently testing the waters to determine whether running a competitive campaign for the US Senate seat in Rhode Island as an Independent is feasible. The general election is in November 2026. We will be actively testing the waters through approximately the third week of June 2026. During this exploratory phase, we need strong social media support to build visibility, engage potential voters across Rhode Island, test messaging, grow our online presence, and gauge grassroots interest and fundraising potential.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Social Media Manager to own and execute our day-to-day social media strategy across major platforms during this critical exploratory phase. This is a high-impact role in a fast-paced environment. You will create engaging content, manage rapid responses, help test different messages, and turn online engagement into measurable results such as follower growth, volunteer interest, and public support.
Key Responsibilities

· Create, schedule, and post daily content (text, graphics, videos, reels, stories) on platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and others as needed.
· Manage community engagement: respond to comments, messages, and mentions professionally while staying on message.
· Monitor news and trends for rapid response opportunities and potential crises.
· Design and manage paid social media advertising campaigns (boosted posts, targeted ads) to reach voters in Rhode Island, and drive interest in the potential campaign.
· Track performance using platform analytics and tools; provide weekly reports on reach, engagement, conversions, and return on investment.
· Collaborate closely with the candidate to ensure consistent voice and branding.
· Ensure all content and ads comply with Federal Election Commission (FEC) disclaimer rules, platform advertising policies, and campaign finance regulations.
· Help build and grow an online following, especially among key demographics in Rhode Island.
· Support other digital efforts such as email list building, website updates, or event promotion as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
· Experience: 2+ years in social media management, preferably on political campaigns, issue advocacy, or high-stakes communications. General marketing experience is considered if you have a strong interest in faith and political issues.
· Political alignment: Must genuinely support the candidate’s positions and values (we will discuss during interview).
· Skills:
· Excellent writing and copywriting for short-form political content.
· Proficiency with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Suite, or similar tools for quick graphic/video creation.
· Strong knowledge of Meta Ads Manager, X Ads, TikTok Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and analytics dashboards.
· Understanding of voter targeting, A/B testing, and data-driven optimization.
· Familiarity with FEC and platform ad disclaimer/compliance rules is a plus.
· Personal traits:
· Highly organized, able to work under pressure and tight deadlines, creative yet disciplined with messaging, excellent communicator, and comfortable working evenings/weekends during peak periods.
