SUMMER Student Minister – Job Description
Position Summary
The student minister will work to:
*Lead students to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and to grow more like Him
*Plan and coordinate ministries to students Middle School through High School
Duties and Responsibilities
- Organize activities for the youth using available resources such as the lake, golf course, swimming pool, member homes, etc.
- Provide student discipleship opportunities through Bible studies, speakers, etc.
- Lead students to participate in summer youth camp and similar special events
- Support students/families as necessary (counseling, problem-solving, etc.)
- Participate in staff meetings and church functions as able
- Work within the youth budget and church policies
Qualifications
- A deep personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior with a humble spirit and passion for Christian growth
- An ability to communicate well with students and parents
- Well-organized with the ability to plan and implement initiatives
- Commitment to youth as evidenced through experience with them
- Team player and flexibility in meeting ministry needs
Reporting Relationship
The student minister reports to the pastor and indirectly to the Board of Trustees
Working Conditions/Classification
The position is part-time (approximately 20 hours per week). The applicant must pass a background check. Could be more during summer months.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay is negotiable. Monthly range is $1,800-$2,500.
Timeframe
Summer months in 2026 – Roughly June through August
