Regional Aquatics Business Director

The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking a Regional Aquatics Business Director to provide strategic leadership for Aquatics Programming and Health & Safety initiatives across the Association. Working closely with the Executive Director of Aquatics Programming, this role focuses on training systems, certification management, safety compliance, and staff development-ensuring consistent, high-quality aquatic experiences for all.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead regional Aquatics operations, ensuring consistent programs, pool schedules, and safety standards.
  • Build and maintain lifeguard and instructor pipelines; organize certification courses and track compliance.
  • Provide leadership, training, and support to full- and part-time staff using adult learning best practices.
  • Conduct aquatic audits and Learn to Swim quality assurance reviews.
  • Partner with community organizations and represent the YMCA at community events.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and fiscal stewardship for Aquatics programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; minimum 4 years of aquatics experience, including management.
  • Trainer-level certifications (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and aquatics/sports software.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel between branches.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: Starting at $50,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
