Seasonal Audio‑Visual Technician (Great for Students & Interns!)
Town of Bethany Beach is looking for a Seasonal Audio‑Visual (AV) Technician to help run our live event streaming program on YouTube. If you’re interested in live music, video production, sound, or media—and want real‑world experience working concerts and festivals—this could be a great fit for you.
This paid part-time position runs May through October and is ideal as an internship. Students majoring in Audio‑Visual Technology, Music Technology, Videography, Photography, Marketing, or related fields are strongly encouraged to apply.
You’ll report to the Events Director / Media Coordinator and assist with livestreaming and production for events like the Seaside Concert Series, Poseidon Festival, and Songwriter Showcase.
🎬 What You’ll Be Doing
- Mixing live sound on different audio boards and interfaces
- Running and organizing audio/video cables and understanding signal flow
- Setting up and breaking down streaming gear
- Helping direct livestream visuals using PTZ cameras and controllers
- Operating cameras during live performances
- Troubleshooting sound or video issues while events are happening
- Multitasking between audio, video, and production needs
- Occasionally interacting with performers and audience members
🎧 What We’re Looking For
- Interest or basic knowledge in:
- Live sound mixing (for a venue and/or livestream)
- Camera operation or video production
- Running cables and understanding AV setups
- Willingness to learn and jump in where needed
- Ability to stay calm and problem‑solve during live events
- Team‑oriented and reliable
Prior experience is a plus, but not required—we’re happy to train the right candidate!
