Research and Development Software Developer

Regional Economic Models, Inc. (REMI) is looking for a Full-Time Research and Development Software Developer to support REMI’s software development and business development divisions. This position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals early in their career interested in software engineering, cloud development, AI, public policy and economics. Candidates will be expected to work 40 hours a week. REMI Research and Development positions will be In-Person roles, located in the REMI Amherst, MA office. 

Responsibilities 

As a Research and Development Staff member, your duties will include: 

  • Full Stack Development, with an emphasis on frontend development 
  • Take ownership of features and implement code required in both the UI and backend services as required 
  • Perform quality assurance and software testing and reporting software errors 
  • Assisting with other Research and Development projects as necessary 

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or Higher (or graduating with applicable degree before June 1st  2026) 
  • Strong understanding of software design fundamentals 
  • Strong skills in both Frontend and Backend development 
  • Familiarity with distribution systems development 
  • Willingness to familiarize oneself with economic concepts referenced in projects you may participate in
