Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
Shine Pediatric Therapy seeks a highly motivated and creative Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is passionate about positively impacting children’s lives and brings energy, adaptability, and creativity to support individualized therapy interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist to address children’s developmental needs.
- Deliver engaging, evidence-based, and play-based therapy interventions to support fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and overall functional independence.
- Foster a child-centered and supportive therapeutic environment that encourages participation, confidence, and growth.
- Collaborate closely with Occupational Therapists, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective care.
- Accurately document therapy sessions, progress toward goals, and communication with the care team in a timely manner.
- Support carryover of therapeutic strategies by educating and guiding parents and caregivers.
- Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and professional development opportunities.
- Stay informed on current best practices and emerging trends in pediatric occupational therapy.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- Previous experience in pediatric therapy preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
- A creative, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to therapy.
