Position Summary
Practice Builders is seeking a motivated and coachable Sales Development Intern to support outreach for our new 5-Star Certification product. This role is ideal for a driven student or recent graduate interested in healthcare, sales, business development, and AI-powered prospecting.
The 5-Star Certification product is designed to help medical practices improve patient experience, strengthen retention, elevate reputation, and stand out in their market through team-wide training and public recognition. In this role, interns will help identify and prospect qualified practices by geography, medical specialty, and online review strength, using AI-supported workflows and targeting strategies.
Our goal is to deliver one of the most compelling and realistic sales internships in the industry. This opportunity includes rigorous training, weekly speakers, and real-world prospecting experience. Interns will gain hands-on exposure to healthcare sales strategy, AI-enabled lead generation, and outbound business development while working closely with members across our team.
Weekly seminar topics may include Prospecting, Question-Based Selling, Qualifying, Pre-Research, Objection Handling, Calls-to-Appointments Metrics, Time Management, Emotional Health, Integrity, and Company Culture.
What You’ll Do
● Prospect new healthcare practices for our 5-Star Certification product
● Use AI-assisted tools and internal processes to identify qualified prospects
● Build prospect lists based on geography, medical specialty, and review rankings
● Research practices before outreach to improve targeting and personalization
● Initiate dialogue with prospective clients through outbound communication
● Follow up on existing and prior leads
● Set sales appointments for senior team members
● Support the sales team in pipeline-building and lead development efforts
● Track outreach activity and maintain accurate prospect records
What You’ll Need
● Coachable and self-motivated with strong follow-through
● Strong communication skills and professional phone presence
● Ability to stay organized, focused, and composed under pressure
● Interest in sales, healthcare, business development, or AI-enabled workflows
● Strong research skills and attention to detail
● Reliable time management and calendar integrity
● Must reside in the U.S. and be legally authorized to work
● Available to work 20–30 hours per week
● Completion of our Culture Index (CI) assessment is required to advance
Compensation & Career Path
● $15/hour base + commission
● Paid weekly

Training
All interns receive thorough training on our phone systems, qualifying framework, prospecting methodologies, and outreach expectations. Interns in this role will also be trained on how to use AI within our prospecting process to identify and prioritize the best-fit healthcare practices for the 5-Star Certification product.
We teach the psychology, language, and cadence that drive decisions—then support you daily as you put it into practice.
About the Product
The 5-Star Certification helps healthcare practices improve the patient experience across key moments that influence retention, reputation, and growth. The program focuses on areas such as:

● Handling difficult or frustrated patients
● Communication styles
● Waiting room communication
● Phone skills
● Leadership reinforcement around hiring, marketing, and attracting the right patients
Practices that complete the program and meet the standard earn 5-Star Patient Experience recognition, including public-facing marketing assets and exclusivity by specialty and market.
