Job Description

Job Goal:

To provide, on a substitute basis, instructional leadership for students in such a way as to enhance their leaning opportunities.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. Associates degree preferred.
3. Demonstrated ability to work with students in a school setting.
4. Ability to live and work in a cross-cultural, rural Alaskan environment.
5. Ability to carry out successfully the duties described below.

Duties:

1. Carries out classroom and other activities pursuant to the written plans of the teacher and/or the instructions of the Site Administrator.
2. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designed.
3. Encourages students to set and maintain high standards of classroom behavior.
4. Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others.
5. Is responsible for monitoring the behavior of all students within his sight and hearing during the work day.
6. Services lunch rooms, playground, bus loading areas, etc.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
