Graduate Student Career Resources Intern — Summer 2026
The UMBC Career Center is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented student intern to spearhead the digital transformation of our graduate resource accessibility. In this role, the intern will take ownership of auditing existing web infrastructure and architecting a new, comprehensive digital hub for Graduate Majors Resources. They will play a vital role in ensuring that graduate-level programs, which fall outside the scope of current undergraduate resources, are accurately represented, easily accessible, and optimized for student success.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit and Analysis: Perform a comprehensive audit of all existing website links to ensure functionality and relevance.
- Resource Integration: Seamlessly integrate newly created resources into the existing web architecture (e.g., the Graduate Student Mentoring Network).
- Accessibility Standards: Apply Silktide accessibility standards to the entire page to ensure inclusive design compliance.
- Content Development: Author high-quality web copy and develop content for the new "Graduate Majors Resources" offerings.
- SEO: Optimize content for search engines (SEO).
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Current UMBC student in any field. Students with experience in copywriting, digital marketing, communications, and content marketing are especially encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in Content Management Systems (CMS).
- Strong web copywriting and editing skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage timelines, and communicate progress.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of UX/UI design principles.
- Experience applying web accessibility standards (e.g., Silktide).
- Experience with link auditing and SEO best practices.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
