Worship Leader 

The Worship Leader position is a key part-time role in planning, facilitating and leading our CBC worship arts ministry with a concentration on the Sunday Morning Service music, service planning and AV aspects of worship.  This role will serve as the key, visible leader of our worship teams with the goal of providing a Christ-centered, excellent, and engaging musical worship service experience.

Length of Service Commitment 

1-year minimum 

Anticipated Time Commitments (per serving week) 

1. Weekly Staff and Teaching Team Meetings: 4 hours 
2. Planning and Preparation: 3-4 hours 
3. Mid-week Rehearsal: 3-4 hours 
4. Sunday Morning: 5 hours 
5. Other Events as Appropriate: 3 hours 

To fulfill the responsibilities and duties outlined below, it is expected that this position will require 20 hours per week serving.  

Qualifications 

1. Exhibits godly character qualities  
2. An active member of Chantilly Bible Church or willing to become one 
3. Has a heart and passion for Worship Arts    
4. Has a demonstrated and mature understanding of theology, Bible, and doctrinally-sound worship ministry philosophy in alignment with CBC doctrine and ministry philosophy 
5. Has a demonstrated gift in music and leading and developing excellent worship bands in both modern and historic worship music 
6. Comfortable facilitating multi-cultural worship with music in multiple languages 
7. Possesses ability to lead small and large groups in congregational music 
8. Has an understanding of technical elements of worship leading including audio visual, instrumentation, lighting and other audio equipment 
9. Possesses strong organizational and administrative skills 
10. Possesses ability to build and lead teams 
11. A team player who is humble and willing to learn 
12. Physical ability to do tasks associated with the position (for example, the ability to lift and move 40lbs (like a case of bottled water) or to lift, move and set up tables and chairs) 

Position Responsibilities 

1. Coordinating Sunday Service worship experience with Lead Pastor and Teaching team, including song selection and other service elements for the congregational Sunday worship experience 
2. Coordinating and Facilitating Sunday Service Planning including: 
   • Organizing and Overseeing Planning Center to be Accurate and Updated 
   • Selecting and Preparing Song Arrangements 
   • Recruiting Musicians, Vocalists and AV Team to Serve 
   • Facilitating Sunday Morning musical and AV worship elements (pre-service rehearsal and worship in service) 
   • Incorporating multi-language worship (English, Chinese and Spanish) to support CBC’s multi-cultural ministry focus 
3. Coordinating and Facilitating Mid-Week Worship Rehearsal 
4. Leading musical worship elements of other all-church events 
5. Other tasks as assigned
