About the Internship
The Human Capital Summer Internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the center of a dynamic, people-first organization, directly supporting initiatives that shape the employee experience across the agency. As part of the Human Capital team, the intern will contribute to high-impact projects spanning, employee engagement, communications, and organizational development and gain exposure to how strategic HR drives business outcomes. This role sits within a collaborative and forward-thinking department that is reimagining how we attract, support, and retain top talent, giving the intern a front-row seat to meaningful transformation work. Throughout the experience, the intern will build critical skills in project management, stakeholder engagement, and data-informed decision-making while working alongside experienced professionals and leaders. By the end of the internship, the student will leave with practical knowledge, a strong professional network, and a deeper understanding of how Human Capital Powers the People that Power the Port Authority (Our Mission).
Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day operations and administrative activities of the Chief Human Capital Office
- Support Human Capital Town Hall, including but not limited to, presentation preparation, AV request, and calendar coordination.
- Building Service Requests (BSR): Delivery and visitor requests, conference room request and set-up, etc.
- Submit the Human Capital Weekly Report to the Executive Director’s Office
- Coordinate Port Authority Bus Terminal and Gateway Chief and Director tours.
- Take actionable item meeting minutes
- Provide logistical support for high priority projects and day-to-day operational needs for the Chief Human Capital Office.
- Create and manage Human Capital Events Calendar.
- Marketing and PA Studio Requests
- Complete ad hoc assignments and special projects as directed, demonstrating flexibility, initiative, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities
Minimum Qualifications:
- Enrollment at a college or university at the time of the internship
- Major in Aviation, Business Administration, or related field of study.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Desired Qualification:
- Rising sophomore, junior, or senior
- Experience with Microsoft apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.
- Demonstrates exceptional communication skills with strong flexibility and adaptability in a constantly evolving environment.
- The ability to use discretion and perform in a highly confidential setting with the ability to multitask.
- Strong ability to think critically and conduct research.
- Attention to detail, ability to proofread, format documents, and be committed to producing high quality work.
Internship Details:
- The start date will be Thursday, May 28, 2026
- The internship will last approximately 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 21, 2026
- This is a full-time internship (5 days per week at 7.25 hours per day)
- In accordance with Port Authority policy, this position permits interns to work remotely a maximum of one day per week. In person collaboration is essential to how the Port Authority conducts business and regular in-office days, or team collaboration days may be required depending on business needs. Some internships may require interns to be fully in-person.

Compensation & Benefits
- The hourly rate range is $18.07 to $30.31 (the exact rate will be determined by internship type and rising school year)
