Lead Movie Camp Instructor & Coordinator
Are you a filmmaker who loves working with kids? Do you have the organizational chops to run a set and the energy to inspire the next generation of great filmmakers?
We are looking for a Lead Instructor & Coordinator for Constellation Stage & Screen’s popular summer Movie Camp program for kids! This is the perfect summer gig for a rising college senior, grad student, or young professional looking to flex their production skills, pad their resume with leadership experience, and have a blast along the way.
The Mission
You’ll be the "Executive Producer" of our camps, guiding students (Grades 1–7) through the magic of filmmaking. You’ll oversee everything from the fi rst brainstorm to the final cut, ensuring every camper finds their voice and every project crosses the finish line.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the Crew: Teach the fundamentals of pre-production, cinematography, and editing in a way that’s engaging for both 7-year-olds and 13-year-olds.
- Production Management: Keep the camp on schedule. You’ll be the master of the "daily call sheet," coordinating location scoutings and shooting schedules as well as space planning for multiple filming groups.
- Problem Solve on the Fly: From tech glitches to creative blocks, you’re the go-to person who keeps the cameras rolling with a positive attitude.
- Collaborate & Communicate: Act as the bridge between campers, junior staff, and parents, ensuring everyone is in the loop and excited.
Who You Are
- Film Fluent: You’re experienced in all phases of production (Development through Post).
- Kid-Approved: You have experience teaching or leading kids in grades 1–7 (camp or after-school settings are a huge plus!).
- A Project Management Pro: You are exceptionally organized, punctual, and responsible. You don’t just wait for instructions—you take initiative.
- A Collaborative Leader: You’re a "people person" who knows how to motivate a team and handle high-energy environments with grace.
The Details
- Dates & Times: Monday – Friday, June 8th – July 26th; 8:30am - 4:15pm
- Location: Constellation Studios, 411 E. 7th Street 47408
- Compensation for three 1-week sessions: $3,000
