Role Summary
As a SkyeEd AP Tutor, you will work one-on-one with high school students in live, online sessions. Your job is to help students understand complex concepts, practice exam-style questions, and develop the exam strategy they need to turn what they know into the score they deserve.
This is a flexible, fully remote opportunity - you set your own availability and take on as many or as few students as your schedule allows. Sessions are conducted via video call, and all scheduling and payment is handled through the SkyeEd platform.
Subjects We Are Hiring For
We are currently recruiting tutors in the following AP subjects:
- AP Biology
You may apply to tutor one or more subjects. We will match you with students based on your subject selections and availability.
What You'll Do
- Conduct live, one-on-one online tutoring sessions with high school students
- Explain AP concepts clearly and adapt your teaching style to each student's needs
- Help students practice with exam-style free-response and multiple-choice questions
- Coach students on AP exam strategy, scoring rubrics, and time management
- Track student progress and communicate with the SkyeEd team as needed
- Maintain a professional, punctual, and encouraging presence in every session
Qualifications
Required
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university
- Score of 4 or 5 on the AP exam in your subject(s), OR completion of a college-level equivalent course with a grade of B+ or higher
- Strong ability to explain complex concepts in simple, clear terms
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet, distraction-free environment for sessions
- Consistent availability - ability to commit to at least 3–5 hours per week
Preferred
- Prior tutoring, teaching, or mentoring experience (formal or informal)
- Familiarity with College Board AP exam formats, free-response rubrics, and scoring criteria
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Passion for education and genuine interest in helping students succeed
