Associate Veterinarian

Privately owned, small animal practice seeking full-or part-time Associate Veterinarian. We provide an environment that is flexible and emotionally intelligent. Join our team of experienced staff who are devoted to giving our patients the best care possible!

We are fully equipped with a new DR radiograph machine, in house Idexx Chemistry/CBC/Snap-pro machine, new dental machine, digital dental radiography, therapy laser, ultrasound, and Cutting Edge Co2 laser. Other equipment includes a small animal endoscope, tonopen, and blood pressure machine. We perform routine surgeries and have a fully operational EKG/BP machine.

Salary and benefits are very competitive for the right candidate. Benefits include Maryland licensure, memberships to two organizations of your choice and a VIN membership. Three weeks paid vacation and all major holidays off. The stipend for CE will include $3000/year. We also offer 401K, and a health care plan to those that are interested.

It is located strategically in the rolling countryside that is the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, 30 miles northwest of Baltimore, Maryland and 60 miles north of Washington, DC.

Outdoor enthusiasts can find ample opportunity for horseback riding, camping, and hiking in the area's many parks and game lands. The Chesapeake Bay and nearby lakes provide excellent boating and fishing. Some of the best white-water rafting in the country is nearby in W. Va. Proximity to Baltimore and Washington DC allows easy access to football, baseball, hockey, and endless cultural and educational activities.

 

Essential skills:

*Proficiency in routine small‑animal surgeries, including spays/neuters and soft‑tissue procedures

*Strong diagnostic and clinical skills for both scheduled and urgent/emergency cases

*Confidence in dental procedures, including cleanings, radiographs, and extractions

*A compassionate communicator who can guide clients through treatment options with clarity and empathy

*Someone who values teamwork and enjoys collaborating with a skilled support staff

*Sound medical judgment and confidence in creating treatment plans
