Our mission is to improve personal sleeping wellness and comfort through advancement of our patented technology as integrated in personalized luxury furniture design, and all continued exploration and technological expansion of its usage in other industry applications.

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a 3rd year and later engineering student for unique limited engineering internship. The successful applicant must be actively enrolled in programs of either computer engineering, electrical engineering, or system engineering. Expectation is this candidate has familiarity with stepper motors, controls, C++ programming, power & controls wiring, mobile app connectivity, and preferably; CANBUS control experience. This candidate must also possess good troubleshooting capability, a strong initiative to act quickly, work closely with the team onsite, as well as remotely with the Texas engineering & software development group.

Additionally, the candidate shall have a willingness to work independently for periods of time with remote communication, as well as demonstrate an outstanding work ethic and inherent respect for surroundings.

This internship will focus on end user technical support and resolution of the Ciridian Sleep Systems installed and in actual use in a luxury New York City (Manhattan) hotel as a featured sleep wellness experience for their clients. Therefore, only applicants residing in the NYC area, and within 30 minutes from midtown, will be considered since response time is critical to hotel operations.

Prefer a 4th yr / grad student level background but will evaluate 3rd yr engineering applicants.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Onsite technical support for Ciridian Bed System.

· Troubleshoot and resolve system matters independently, and in conjunction with Sleep Technologies Engineering and Software development personnel

· Ability to evaluate computer engineering coding using, at minimum, C++ and C. Linux programming knowledge is a plus

· Conduct daily system function tests, including but not limited to, offline issues, connectivity, furnishings, cosmetics & aesthetics; resolve issues as needed.

· Engage in brainstorm sessions to resolve urgent problems, as well as contribute to blue-sky solutions for technological advancement

· Maintain clean and organized work area and initiate continuous improvement

· Maintain a high level of professionalism and respect with all hotel personnel, the environment, and all space granted for temporary use.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Enrolled in an bonafide & accredited engineering program

· 4th yr / grad level education experience as a computer engineer, system engineer, or electrical engineer

· Familiarity with stepper motors, controls, power & controls wiring, mobile app connectivity, and preferably; CANBUS control experience

· Software coding experience using C++and C

· Mechanical assembly & disassembly capability

· Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical audiences through conversation, videoconferencing, and email

· Ability to lift 60 pounds

· Must be able to do repetitive bending and stretching
