Media Lab Student Worker

Position Overview

The Media Lab is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented student worker to support day-to-day lab operations. This is a great opportunity for students interested in gaining hands-on experience in a creative, equipment-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Check out, receive, and track rental equipment for student and faculty use
• Inspect rental equipment for damage or wear and document condition reports
• Maintain and update inventory spreadsheets with accuracy and consistency
• Respond to emails from students and faculty regarding equipment availability, rentals, and general lab inquiries
• Assist with general lab upkeep and operations as needed

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as an Art, Art History, or Design student (preferred)
• Familiarity with photography equipment — cameras, lenses, lighting, and accessories — is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Comfortable with basic computer tasks including spreadsheet software and email
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
