About the Role

Pike Engineering is seeking a Design Intern to support our Pittsburgh engineering team. This internship is ideal for students pursuing a 2‑year degree in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field who are interested in gaining hands‑on experience supporting real engineering projects.

You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and designers, assisting with project coordination, documentation, and design‑related tasks while building a strong foundation for a future career in engineering or design.

What You’ll Do

• Support engineering projects through special assignments and design‑related tasks
• Assist with project documentation, drawings, spreadsheets, and databases
• Help create and maintain operational and training documents
• Support small capital or expense projects from planning through completion
• Assist with project schedules, milestones, and deliverables
• Track project costs, savings, and justification documentation
• Work with engineering teams to help resolve issues using basic engineering principles
• Gain exposure to real‑world engineering workflows and project management tools

What We’re Looking For

• Currently enrolled in an accredited 2‑year college or technical program
  (Drafting, Engineering Technology, CAD, or related field)
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills
• Comfortable working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team
