Summer 2026 Video Content Intern
Company: Consortium for Mathematics and Its Applications (COMAP)
Job Type: Internship | Temporary | Remote
Compensation: $600 per week
Duration: 8 weeks (30 hours/week)
Schedule: 8 consecutive weeks between June 8 and August 21, 2026 (based on mutual availability)
About COMAP:
COMAP is a small, mission-driven nonprofit that supports K–16 mathematics education through mathematical modeling and real-world relevance. We create curricular resources, run international contests, offer professional development, collaborate with partner organizations, and promote mathematical modeling in classrooms around the world.
About the Role:
We’re looking for a Video Content Intern to help us get more value out of the video content we already have—and to build a system that makes creating new content easier over time.
This internship is designed for undergraduate students who are interested in video editing, digital storytelling, and building scalable content systems.
This isn’t just an editing role. You’ll help turn long-form and archival footage into short, engaging clips, create longer videos for different uses, and develop original content that doesn’t rely on talking heads. Just as importantly, you’ll help organize everything so our team can continue using and reusing content after the internship ends.
What You’ll Do:
Create short-form videos (primary focus)
- Turn existing footage into short clips for LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts
- Identify strong moments in longer videos and create multiple versions (different hooks, formats, and lengths)
- Add captions, simple motion graphics, and light branding
Edit longer-form videos
- Create 2–10 minute videos for:
- Website content
- YouTube
- Presentations and outreach
- Combine clips into themed or compilation-style videos
Create non–talking-head content:
- Develop videos that don’t rely on interviews or people speaking on camera
- Use text, visuals, b-roll, stock footage, or simple animations
- Examples include:
- Explainers
- Educational snippets
- “Did you know?” content
- Promotional or awareness pieces
Organize our video library:
- Build a structured, searchable system for video assets
- Tag and label content so it’s easy to find and reuse
- Ensure the team can quickly access what they need
Build templates and workflows:
- Create reusable templates for social clips, promotional videos, and intros/outros
- Document your workflows so the team can continue producing content
What Success Looks Like:
By the end of the internship, you will have:
- Created a library of ready-to-use short-form clips
- Produced polished longer-form videos for ongoing use
- Built reusable templates for different types of content
- Organized our video assets into a clear, usable system
- Documented processes so the work continues beyond the internship
Tools:
You can use any video editing tools you’re comfortable with (e.g., Premiere Pro, Final Cut, CapCut, Canva), as long as:
- Files and templates can be easily shared and edited by our team
- The tools are accessible for continued use
Who This Is a Good Fit For
- You are an undergraduate student
- You have experience editing short-form video for social media
- You understand what makes content engaging and easy to watch
- You can identify “clip-worthy” moments in longer videos
- You’re comfortable creating content without on-camera subjects
- You’re organized and interested in building systems—not just one-off edits
- You can work independently and clearly document your process
Nice to Have:
- Experience with captions and social media formatting
- Familiarity with content repurposing strategies
- Interest in STEM, education, or mission-driven work
Important Notes:
- This is a remote internship with regular synchronous online meetings.
- Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States; preference will be given to candidates residing in Massachusetts, New York, or Pennsylvania.
- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
- This position is not benefits-eligible
How to Apply:
To apply, please submit the following:
- A brief statement of interest (1–2 paragraphs) explaining why you’re interested in this role
- Your resume
- A portfolio or 2–3 examples of video work (links preferred), especially short-form content, if available
Application Deadline: May 22, 2026 (applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis)
