Baker/Decorator
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Baker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and production, with a particular emphasis on baking techniques and mixing methods. This role involves creating a variety of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, cookies, pies, cupcakes, brownies, macarons, meringues, pavlovas, frostings, etc. while ensuring high standards of quality and presentation. The Baker will work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to maintain an efficient workflow and contribute to a positive environment.
Must be proficient in all areas of baking, understand the art of baking
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a wide range of baked goods, breads, pastries, desserts, etc. (bread is not on our menu)
- Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistent quality and taste
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the baking area
- Experience using a piping bag/piping skills
- Can perform repetitious, physical tasks that require the strength to lift items of moderate to heavy weight (as much as 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods of time.
- Is able to operate commercial-grade ovens and other bakery equipment and work adjacent to a high-heat source.
- Is meticulous about using exact measurements, paying strict attention to timing and working on a tight, fast-paced production schedule
- Cleans and restocks the workstation, garbage removal
- Ensures and maintains the productivity level of assistant baker
- Understands basic math and fractions, US baking metrics
- Inform management when supplies/ ingredients are low and need to restock
- Recipe testing/developing for new items
- Can assist in activities within the bakery if need arrises, which may include: Boxing, packing orders/ unloading ingredients/ organizing / cleaning / dishwashing or any other related duties as assigned.
