About Us: Camp Kippewa is a traditional overnight camp for girls aged 7-15, located in beautiful Monmouth, Maine. Our camp is known for its customized activity scheduling, supportive atmosphere, top-notch activity instruction, and infectious enthusiasm. Staff join us for 10 weeks, while campers attend one of the two 3.5-week sessions.

Job Description: Camp Kippewa is seeking enthusiastic and skilled Sports Camp Counselors to join our team. In this role, individuals will specialize in coaching various sports, including Tennis, Archery, Basketball, Field Hockey, Fitness, Lacrosse, Softball, and Volleyball. The successful candidates will also serve as bunk counselors, contributing to the overall well-being of campers in a cabin setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Coach and instruct specific sports activities, including Tennis, Archery, Basketball, Field Hockey, Fitness, Lacrosse, Softball, and Volleyball.
  • Create a positive and inclusive environment for skill development in children aged 7-15.
  • Serve as a bunk counselor, contributing to the overall supportive and warm atmosphere of the camp.
  • Teach classes throughout the day as assigned.
  • Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for physical activity.

Compensation:

  • Salary
  • Travel stipend
  • Bonus upon completion of the contract
  • Room and board (a cabin with 10-12 campers and staff)

Internship Credit:

  • Internship credit can be attained with school approval.
  • We are willing to collaborate with applicants and schools to ensure requirements are met.
  • Applicants should communicate directly with their school to understand and fulfill internship requirements.

Requirements:

  • Passion for coaching and instructing sports, including Archery, Basketball, Field Hockey, Fitness, Lacrosse, Softball, and Volleyball.
  • Minimum of one year of college education.
  • Warmth of personality, calmness, independence, quiet strength, inner confidence, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to serve as a positive role model for campers.
  • Willingness to contribute to the supportive and warm atmosphere of the camp.
