Summer position begins May/June and continues through August.
General Statement of Duties & Organizational Responsibilities
Performs a variety of tasks involving field work and survey of the Denver Metropolitan area, data input and tracking and some investigation of industrial waste discharges and business sectors to the sanitary sewer system. Works under the direction of the Sector Control Supervisor.
Examples of Duties
Identifies non-domestic (commercial and industrial) waste dischargers in the Metro service area by performing activities such as field audits; researching industries listed online and in manufacturers' directories. Conducts telephone surveys where necessary; may audit connector provided records and performs field work to verify information that might contribute industrial waste to the sanitary sewer system.
Compiles survey audit information and summarize findings to the Industrial Pretreatment Management Team.
Performs routine data input in Metro’s pretreatment database. May participate in monitoring and field investigations of complaints, reported illegal or harmful discharges and pollutant sources.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from High School and either a year of college level course work or one year’s experience with industrial and/or wastewater treatment processes and/or industrial waste regulations. Possess a valid Colorado driver's license and a safe driving record. Must have good communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
