Videographer & Editor | Real Estate & Lifestyle Content

Coleman Johns is a modern real estate, marketing, and media brand based in Nashville, founded in 2022. We operate The Coleman Johns Group, a top-producing real estate team specializing in luxury properties, and Coleman Johns Studio, our in-house creative team producing cinematic, story-driven content.

Our YouTube channels reach hundreds of thousands of viewers and directly drive millions in closed real estate volume. We're building out our creative team and looking for a talented videographer and editor who can shoot it and cut it.

The Role

You're the person who shows up to a shoot, captures everything that matters, and then sits down and turns it into something people actually want to watch.

We produce across multiple formats — cinematic luxury property tours, fast-paced founder vlogs, long-form YouTube content, and short-form social for Instagram, TikTok, and Shorts. Some days you'll be on location at a $3M home with a gimbal in your hands. Other days you'll be in the edit building out a 12-minute YouTube video or cutting Reels from yesterday's shoot. You need to be comfortable in both worlds and excited about switching between them.

You'll work alongside our Creative Director and a dedicated drone/DSLR videographer. You're not doing this alone — but you need to be someone who can operate independently, bring ideas to the table, and deliver work that doesn't need constant hand-holding.

If you're the kind of person who's always shooting something, always editing something, and always thinking about how to make it better — this is your seat.

What You'll Do

  • Shoot property tours, vlog content, lifestyle footage, and brand content using DSLR/mirrorless cameras and supporting gear
  • Edit long-form YouTube content with strong pacing, music selection, and storytelling that holds viewer attention
  • Produce short-form content (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) with an understanding of what performs natively on each platform
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director on shot planning, storyboarding, and creative direction
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on deadlines without sacrificing quality
  • Help maintain organized footage libraries, project files, and asset management
  • Bring creative ideas to the table — you're not just executing, you're contributing to what we make and how we make it
  • Assist with lighting, audio capture, and on-set production as needed

You Should Have

  • A reel or portfolio that shows both your shooting and editing ability — we want to see range across formats
  • Proficiency with DSLR or mirrorless camera systems (Sony, Canon, Blackmagic, etc.)
  • Strong editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro (After Effects and DaVinci Resolve a plus)
  • Understanding of composition, lighting, and audio capture for both controlled and run-and-gun environments
  • Experience editing for YouTube — you understand retention, pacing, and why the first 30 seconds matter
  • Ability to work fast without getting sloppy — we produce a lot of content and need someone who can keep up
  • A car and ability to travel to shoots around the Nashville area
  • Self-motivated and organized — you manage your own time and deliverables

Nice to Have

  • Drone certification (Part 107)
  • Motion graphics or animation skills
  • Color grading experience
  • Real estate, luxury, or lifestyle content experience
  • Your own gear (camera, lenses, stabilizer)
  • Active personal content on YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram that shows your creative voice

What We Offer

  • A seat on a growing creative team alongside a Creative Director and production crew
  • High-end subject matter — luxury real estate, lifestyle content, and brand storytelling
  • Volume and variety that will build your skills and your reel fast
  • Creative input valued — your ideas matter, not just your output
  • The opportunity to grow with a brand that's scaling its media operation
  • Paid time off and a flexible, high-growth culture

Compensation: $45,000 - $55,000 annually depending on experience.
