Location: Remote 
Commitment: 5–10 hours per week | Flexible schedule

A Free Bird empowers children and teens affected by cancer through the healing power of the arts. Our programs provide a creative outlet through music, visual art, writing, acting, and more—helping children build confidence, process emotions, and find joy.

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Management Assistant to support day-to-day operations and assist leadership with administrative and organizational tasks. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain experience in nonprofit operations, team coordination, and executive support.

You will play a key role in keeping internal processes organized, supporting communication across teams, and ensuring that ongoing projects run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with calendar management, scheduling, and meeting coordination
  • Draft, edit, and proofread emails and internal communications
  • Support coordination across departments (HR, Programs, Marketing, etc.)
  • Maintain and organize digital files, documents, and trackers
  • Help monitor task progress and follow up with team members as needed
  • Assist with planning internal meetings, events, and initiatives
  • Conduct basic research and compile information for leadership
  • Provide general administrative and operational support

Qualifications

  • Interest in nonprofit work, operations, or administrative support
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask
  • Comfortable using Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, or similar tools
  • Ability to work independently and stay responsive in a remote environment
