Junior Software Engineer

About the Role

SOFTACT is looking for a motivated Junior Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team. You'll work alongside senior engineers on real client projects — building web applications, APIs, and integrations that ship to production. This is a hands-on role with plenty of mentorship, code reviews, and opportunity to grow fast.

 

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain frontend and backend features across client projects using React and Node.js.
  • Participate in daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives as part of an agile team.
  • Write clean, tested, and well-documented code that meets our internal quality standards.
  • Collaborate with designers and product leads to translate requirements into working software.
  • Debug and resolve issues in development and production environments.
  • Learn and adopt new technologies as our stack and client needs evolve.

 

Requirements

  • 0–2 years of professional experience, or strong portfolio/projects demonstrating real-world coding ability.
  • Solid understanding of JavaScript or TypeScript fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with React and REST API design.
  • Basic knowledge of Git, version control workflows, and code review practices.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively in a remote-friendly environment.
  • A growth mindset — you ask questions, seek feedback, and take ownership of your learning.
