Communications Internship - June 1 to July 24, 2026

THE BLINK: 

This will be a great eight-week (June 1 to July 2, 2026) communications internship, with an in-person training trip in June to Washington D.C., for a qualified undergraduate/recent graduate student in communications, journalism, and public relations. 

 

THE MARSHALL UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION

Located in the heart of Huntington, West Virginia, the Marshall University Foundation Inc. (Foundation) is an independent nonprofit organization that receives, invests, administers and disburses private resources on behalf of Marshall University.  The Foundation raises money for student scholarships and funding to support University academic departments and initiatives. In addition, The Foundation also houses the Alumni Relations team that establishes and builds relationship with more than 120,000 alumni worldwide. 

THE CASE INTERNHIP PROGRAM

The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) is the global nonprofit association dedicated to educational advancement and championing education to transform lives and society. CASE sponsors a summer internship program to provide current or recent undergraduates exposure to in higher education roles in alumni relations, communications, development, marketing and advancement services. 

THE MARSHALL UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION CASE INTERSHIP OPPORTUNITY

The CASE Communications Internship is an eight-week summer experience (June 1 to July 24, 2026) supporting Rebecca Stephens, Senior Director of Communications for the Foundation. The internship will provide hands-on experience with the Foundation's impact messages across digital platforms. 

The intern will:

  • Create social media content
  • Write donor and alumni spotlight stories
  • Update website content
  • Assist with email communications

CASE Training in Washington DC (June 2026): 

  • Intern will travel to Washington DC for training with CASE interns from across the US

QUALIFICATIONS

In order to qualify you must be a current undergraduate student (or recent graduate) majoring in communications, journalism or public relations and possess strong writing skills, familiarity with social media and organized/detail oriented. Experience with Canva and/or Constant Contact is a plus.
