The Opportunity
Are you an outdoor enthusiast who loves working with kids? JCC Rainbow Day Camp is seeking an Environmental Education Intern to inspire campers through nature-based discovery. You’ll lead explorations of our 100-acre site, teaching everything from pond life to habitat conservation in an inclusive, high-energy camp environment.
What You’ll Do
Lead Discovery: Develop and facilitate engaging lessons on vernal ponds, insect life cycles, animal adaptations, camouflage, and nature art.
Manage the Nature Center: Oversee the setup, upkeep, and equipment inventory of our dedicated Nature Center.
Mentor Campers: Balance your time between specialized teaching and supporting campers as a counselor, building meaningful relationships and ensuring safety.
Camp Spirit: Dive into the full camp experience by participating in spirit days, songs, and community-wide programs.
Who You Are
Qualified: 18+ years old and a high school graduate.
Nature-Focused: You have a background or strong interest in environmental science, outdoor education, or recreation.
Dynamic Leader: Able to plan and implement activities with minimal supervision while keeping groups of grade-schoolers focused and excited.
Team Player: Ready to work outdoors in the summer sun and contribute to a supportive, multicultural staff team.
