Simulation Engineer | Aeronautical industry

At Embention, we have spent more than 18 years working toward a clear mission: enabling drones to populate our skies.

We provide over 700 customers across 70 countries with safety-critical avionics and high-performance components, for advanced air mobility (AAM) including UAVs, drones, and eVTOL aircraft, all developed in compliance with the highest aeronautical certification standards (DO178C, DO254, STANAG, etc.).

Our technology supports a wide range of programs, from defense and security applications to urban air mobility, cargo transport, and even space-related recovery projects.

The core of Embention is our R&D organization, with more than 100 engineers across multiple disciplines. Together with the rest of the team, we are a global organization of 175+ professionals aligned around one mission.

Today, Embention has a strong presence in Spain, a growing local team in Los Angeles (USA), and a high-tech production facility in Abu Dhabi (UAE).

As part of our strategic growth, we are now strengthening our footprint in the United States.

If you have a strong background in simulation, a solid foundation in physics and control systems, and you’re motivated to see your models validated in real flight systems, we’d love to meet you.

💡 Which will be your responsibilities?

  • Develop a comprehensive simulation environment in Simulink/MATLAB for UAV and eVTOL platforms
  • Design and implement vehicle dynamics models, including aerodynamics, propulsion, and actuator dynamics
  • Integrate and interface vehicle dynamics algorithms with the S-function of Veronte
  • Validate and fine-tune the simulation environment through testing and real-world data correlation
  • Collaborate with control system engineers to ensure robust and accurate simulation outputs
  • Optimize simulation performance and fidelity for real-time applications
  • Document models, methodologies, and validation processes for traceability and future improvements
  • Stay up to date with aerospace simulation technologies and best practices

🕵️‍♀️ What do we need?

  • Bachelor's and Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Final year project related to simulation or computer vision
  • Good background in math and physics
  • Experience with at least one of the following: MATLAB/Simulink, C++, or Python
  • Proactive attitude

📚 What do we value?

  • Experience with real-time simulation and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing
  • Knowledge of numerical methods, optimization techniques, and simulation verification methodologies
  • Familiarity with aerodynamic modeling and CFD tools
  • Programming skills in Python or C++ for automation and simulation enhancement
  • Understanding of aerospace certification standards (e.g., DO-178C, DO-254)
  • Proficiency in vehicle dynamics, flight mechanics, and control systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment
