Internship Projects/Tasks/Assignments

  • Assist Induction Ceremony Project Manager
  • Lead Induction Ceremony Sub-tasks as assigned
  • Social media campaign creation
  • Provide support, and participate in, event planning
  • Greet and engage museum visitors; assist with technical displays
  • Additional ceremony or museum tasks as needed


 

Skills Intern May Develop During This Internship

  • Marketing campaign development
  • One-to-one business letter writing
  • Social media advertising campaigns
  • Project management with multiple projects and deadlines
  • Historical research techniques
  • Awareness and sharing of a peoples’ cultural history through music


 

Previous Skills Intern Would Need to be Successful

  • Experience with office automation tools (MS Office, Google)
  • Good graphic design sensibilities
  • Self-directed; can create own work plans
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Outgoing, open to feedback and learning
  • Sense of WV pride and cultural history


 

Additional Notes

  • Number of interns could range from 1-2 in fall ’26, preferably 2 in spring ‘27
  • Work will revolve around the planning and execution of the 2027 Induction Ceremony so knowledge acquired in the fall ‘26 semester will be fully realized in spring ’27 semester
  • Hours worked per week could range from the lower 15 hours to 20 hours based on the Induction Ceremony planning calendar
  • On-site work could extend to museum docent work
