Archival Intern
McGee Media, an independent documentary company, is seeking an archival intern to assist with historical archival research and data tracking of materials.
A background or interest in film, history, and/or research experience is preferred. A local NYC candidate is also preferred, as there will be occasional work at our Midtown office.
Responsibilities can include (but are not limited to)
- Researching and compiling history collections and articles to help producers identify key stories for the series
- Creating and editing audio and video transcriptions
- Organizing visual assets and relevant data, as well as general admin to support producers
- Occasionally going on shoots to support as needed
Required Skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proactive and detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Microsoft Excel
- Google and Adobe Suites (especially Google Drive, Calendar, and Adobe Acrobat)
A passion for history and documentary storytelling and an interest in learning more about documentary filmmaking, is not required but strongly desired.
Compensation
$15/hour
2-3 days per week, depending on the individual’s schedule
Can also serve as college credit if desired
