Laboratory Technician

Geocomp’s GeoTesting Express (GTX) is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Soil and Rock Testing Laboratory in Acton, MA.


This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to launch their career in geotechnical testing. You will gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art automated testing equipment, advanced processes, and real-world projects that support site characterization, geotechnical design, quality control, and performance assessment.

About the Team

 

You will join a dedicated team of laboratory professionals committed to delivering fast, accurate, and high-quality geotechnical testing services. Our team values safety, innovation, and teamwork, and will provide you with the training and support needed to succeed and grow in your career.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Perform laboratory testing on soil, rock, and geosynthetics

Collect, record, and report test data with accuracy and attention to detail

Assist with laboratory projects and daily operations as needed

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment

Uphold high standards of quality, safety, and process compliance

 

Qualifications

Required

Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Organized, adaptable, and willing to learn new laboratory techniques

No prior laboratory experience required — full training will be provided

 

Preferred

Coursework or exposure to earth sciences, geology, civil, or environmental engineering is a plus (not required)

 

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, bend, and stand for extended periods at a lab bench or workstation

Laboratory environment: standard indoor lab setting

Field testing (occasional): typical construction site conditions

Base salary range: $23,00 per hour
(This amount reflects the base salary only and does not include bonus, benefits, or other forms of compensation)
