Engineering Intern (Summer)     


POSITION DESCRIPTION:

ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Shelby, LLC a manufacturer of welded and seamless tubing, is seeking a Metallurgy Intern. ArcelorMittal Shelby is a part of the North American Tubular Products Division of ArcelorMittal, which is one of the world’s largest steel companies with 100,000 employees in more than 15 countries. 

 

This Intern experience offers a variety of hands-on-training and exposure to the many different aspects of Metallurgy:

 

  • Provide Metallurgical/Technical assistance to all aspects of the business.
  • Participating in customer specifications and print development
  • Engagement with the metallurgical aspects of steel and raw material vendors
  • Assist with lab testing competency
  • Perform special projects or assignments as needed. 

EDUCATION/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sophomore/Junior standing seeking a degree in Metallurgical/Materials Engineering or a related discipline
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Must have superb management, leadership, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Innovative, self-motivated, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent proficiency in computer technologies especially Microsoft Office software.
