Trail Crew Member

Overview

As a Trail Crew Member, you’ll work with a team to construct and maintain high-quality natural surface trails. This role is ideal for someone with a technical and mechanical mindset who can work both independently and as part of a crew, and who enjoys working outdoors, learning new skills, and tackling physical challenges. This is a seasonal position (April – November) with some opportunity to work year-round, project dependent.

Responsibilities

•Assist with trail construction and maintenance, including clearing corridors, shaping tread, and finishing trail surfaces
• Operate and maintain hand tools, small engines, and power tools (e.g., chainsaws, brush cutters)
• Rake and finish trail surfaces to specification
• Move and set rocks, logs, and other natural materials for trail structures
• Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance on tools and equipment
• Work effectively and safely as part of a crew
• Contribute to a safe, respectful, and positive work environment

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude — experience working with tools, machines, or vehicles
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Ability to perform manual labor outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Willingness to learn new skills and follow direction
• Ability and willingness to travel to project sites as needed
• Experience with construction, landscaping, or trail maintenance - preferred
• Experience with equipment (mini-excavators, skid steers, dozers, etc.) - preferred
• Trail-building experience
