Front Office and Attendance Assistant at Classical Charter School

Job Title: Front Office/Attendance Assistant

Location: Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Denver(ACAND)-Brighton, CO

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Dean of Students

Work Hours/Days: 190 work days on the site calendar; 8 hours per day during regular school days (usually 7:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.); attendance at all faculty meetings and professional development days; additional participation in some training events is also required

Start Date: August 3, 2026

Wage Range: $20-$22 per hour

Position Summary:

As a key member of the front office team, the Attendance Clerk and Receptionist plays a highly visible and important role in the school, communicating frequently with families, and serving as a liaison between students, families, and staff. This position requires superior customer service and data management skills, ensuring that daily attendance is reported accurately in a timely manner. This position is also required to work closely and collaboratively with all campus employees.

Essential Functions:

  • Promote the school's mission and vision for classical education
  • Initiate and receive all telephone calls to the main line; screen and route calls as directed
  • Respond to inquiries and provide student attendance and other information to personnel, parents and outside agencies
  • Assist students, staff and visitors in the front office
  • Regularly run security checks through Raptor on all individuals entering the building
  • Provide support for daily attendance activities and update attendance data for required reporting
  • Process and verify student absence information from parents, teachers and others
  • Issue admittance forms to students who are late or returning from absence
  • Perform a variety of clerical duties and record-keeping activities
  • Refer questions or concerns regarding school attendance to the Assistant Headmaster
  • Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for absences or tardiness to ensure minimal disruption to students, colleagues, and school operations.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Adherence to all ACACS policies, including but not limited to the Employee Handbook, Family Handbook, and all applicable school and board policies

Preferred skills/abilities:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent preferred
  • Office or School experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
  • Must be able to traverse the classroom and the school
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer
  • Must be able to supervise outdoor duties
