Medical Assistant
ABOUT US:
Dr. Robert A. Hozman is an experienced board-certified internal medicine physician with a specialization in rheumatology. He currently operates a private practice serving patients in the northern suburbs of Chicago.
THE POSITION:
Our clinic is looking to hire a pre-med/pre-health student who would serve as a medical assistant in our office before they apply to graduate school. Required tasks include: checking in patients, answering phones, typing up patient reports, communicating with the physician on the diagnosis of patients, serving as a scribe, performing diagnostic screenings, and becoming skilled in electronic medical records. Applicants should be ready to work In a fast-paced environment and be able to multitask. You will be working with our electronic medical records system, eClinical Works, which you will receive training on once you are hired. The ideal candidate is someone who is looking for a gap year opportunity (1-3 years) to gain valuable clinical skills before attending medical/graduate school.
Reliable transportation is important for this position to travel to our locations (Skokie and Libertyville).
Ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM or STEM-adjacent field
- Strong interest in medicine and pharmaceuticals
- Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to be a self-starter
- Ability to learn medical software
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Reliable transportation to travel to Skokie, IL and Libertyville, IL
- Spanish fluency strongly preferred, but not required
