About the Role
Lynk Engineers is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Student Intern to support our team on a variety of building system projects. This is a hands-on learning opportunity where you’ll gain real-world exposure to HVAC design, BIM coordination, construction documentation, and multidisciplinary collaboration within a consulting environment.
Summer and fall internship opportunities are available.
You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, contribute to active projects, and build practical skills that complement your academic studies.
What You’ll Learn & Work On
- Assist with preparing mechanical design drawings and documentation for building projects
- Support the development of HVAC system layouts, including ductwork, piping coordination, and equipment placement
- Work with engineers to help with basic load calculations, equipment research, and organizing design data
- Learn how to review drawings for coordination and constructability
- Gain experience using Revit and AutoCAD for modeling and documentation
- Support updates to construction documents across different project phases
- Participate in team meetings and multidisciplinary coordination
- Assist with research related to codes, standards, equipment selection, and energy efficiency strategies
- Gain exposure to construction administration tasks such as submittals, RFIs, and occasional site visits
What We’re Looking For
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
- Completed sophomore or junior-level coursework preferred
- Basic understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and HVAC fundamentals
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office; exposure to Revit or AutoCAD is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
