Marketing & Media Intern
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Marketing & Media Intern will be responsible for the following:
- Fulfill an overall time commitment of 12 hours per week
- Hours are flexible and will be determined jointly by Intern and Supervisor prior to start date.
- Some hours may be performed remotely at the discretion of the Supervisor.
- Document all hours on monthly REQUIRED timesheets; Notify Supervisor of any changes to regular schedule at least 24 hours in advance.
- Participate in the following (included in the 12hr/week)—
- One monthly Intern meeting
- One monthly PR/Marketing Committee meeting
- Manage PTEF’s social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LindedIn) on a daily basis in coordination with staff.
- Responsibilities include—
- Create a full-cycle marketing & media plan/calendar to align with broad organizational objectives
- Post original content to each platform on a bi-weekly basis
- Perform research to determine which other accounts (teachers, schools, clubs/teams, community organizations) to follow; Like/Share/Retweet content from those accounts daily
- Stay current and advise staff on marketing & social media best practices in a nonprofit environment
- Create and update social media event pages for all PTEF events
- Develop strategies for increasing reach and impact of marketing & social media efforts
- Coordinate with School District Communications team regarding content and strategies; Assist as necessary
- Attend events on behalf of PTEF as directed by Supervisor (and as schedule allows)
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a student at IU in good standing; High school diploma or GED required
- Interest in and demonstrable experience with various marketing & social media platforms
- Highly self-motivated and able to work independently
- Passion for education and youth development.
- Students majoring in communications/marketing/PR, business, nonprofit management, education or social work strongly encouraged to apply.

Selection Process:
Interested students should submit a cover letter and résumé to Executive Director at PTEF@perryschools.org. Due date for all applications to be received is Monday, June 15, 2026. Qualified applicants will be interviewed by a board/staff committee. Interns will be trained, supervised, and evaluated by a staff Supervisor, who reserves the right to remove the Intern at any time who is not performing his or her duties per the above agreement. Term of service will be ONE SEMESTER with the opportunity to reapply for a second term, pending results of an evaluation.
