Poultry Industry Intern
Overview:
Join our dynamic team and gain hands-on experience in the poultry industry. As an intern, you'll support daily operations, assist with production and quality control, and help implement best practices in animal care and biosecurity. Responsibilities and Tasks:
- The intern will rotate through each department within the company, gaining comprehensive, hands-on exposure to all facets of our operations.
- Operational Support: Assist with day-to-day tasks and activities across various departments.
- Data & Record Keeping: Help maintain accurate records and support routine data collection efforts.
- Quality & Compliance: Participate in ensuring that operational standards and safety protocols are followed.
- Maintenance & Safety: Contribute to maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-organized work environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members on projects and support overall departmental objectives.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Assist with special initiatives and tasks as needed to support company operations.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years old or older.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Excellent documentation and organization skills
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills required with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Initiative to lead and work independently.
- Must observe company policies, rules, and regulations.
- Must complete orientation and onboarding process.
- Current enrollment in an agriculture, animal science, veterinary, or related program.
- Basic understanding of poultry farming practices and animal welfare is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn in a hands-on environment.

- Duration: Typically, a 3-month internship but flexible with start and end dates.

- Typical office environment.
- My also be exposed to environments that consist of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
- May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
- May be exposed to chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
- Work may occasionally include lifting, reaching, bending, pushing, and squatting.
