Marketing Intern - AI Search and SEO

This is a hands-on internship at the intersection of traditional SEO and the emerging field of AI-driven search visibility. You will help PTP build a content and optimization strategy that makes the brand discoverable not just in search engines, but inside the responses generated by large language models. This is a rare opportunity to work on cutting-edge LLO/GEO strategy in the B2B IT space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit PTP's current web presence and identify content gaps for AI visibility (LLO/GEO)
- Research and develop structured, authoritative content that LLMs are likely to cite (service pages, FAQs, thought leadership articles, comparison guides)
- Optimize existing pages for entity-based SEO — building semantic associations between PTP, its services, and relevant IT concepts
- Monitor how PTP appears in AI-generated responses across tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude; track changes over time
- Build and maintain a library of schema markup (FAQPage, Service, Organization) to support structured data indexing
- Support backlink outreach to increase domain authority and citation likelihood in AI responses
- Produce monthly reports on AI search visibility, keyword rankings, and content performance
- Collaborate with leadership on brand voice and messaging consistency across channels
What We're Looking For:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, or related field
- Familiarity with how LLMs work and how Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) differs from traditional SEO
- Understanding of on-page SEO fundamentals: keyword research, meta tags, internal linking, content structuring
- Hands-on experience (personal, academic, or freelance) with tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, SurferSEO, or similar
- Ability to write clear, authoritative, well-structured content for a technical B2B audience
- Curiosity about AI tools — actively uses ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, or similar in daily workflow
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks independently
Nice to Have:
- Experience with schema markup / structured data (JSON-LD)
- Familiarity with AI prompt engineering and how context shapes model outputs
- Prior experience in B2B or IT-adjacent content/marketing
- Knowledge of Google Search Console, GA4, or similar analytics platforms
