Property Management Intern

Job Title: Property Management Intern (Inspections Focus)

Location: Bridgewater, VA
Department: Property Management
Reports To: Property Manager 

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Property Management Intern to support our team with a primary focus on property inspections. This internship offers hands-on experience in residential property management, providing exposure to unit inspections, maintenance coordination, and overall property operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with conducting move-in, move-out, and routine unit inspections
  • Document property conditions, including taking photos and detailed notes
  • Identify and report maintenance issues, safety concerns, and lease violations
  • Support follow-up on inspection findings with the maintenance team
  • Help ensure units meet company standards and compliance requirements
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and reports
  • Assist with preparing units for new residents
  • Conduct periodic property walks to assess curb appeal and common areas
  • Provide general administrative support to the property management team as needed

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Business, Real Estate, Property Management, or related field
  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred

  • Interest in real estate or property management
  • Basic understanding of maintenance or construction concepts
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
