About Cellsense
Cellsense transforms algae and cellulose into sustainable beads and beaded fabrics for the fashion, jewelry, and beauty industries. Cellsense’s proprietary material replaces sources of microplastics and heavy metal pollution while offering designers a wide range of brilliant colors, clarities, and properties such as fluorescence. Our innovative manufacturing system cuts lead time of customized beaded products from weeks to days. Currently, we are focused on scaling up our process while engaging in paid pilots with industry partners. We recently closed our pre-seed round and have received inbound interest from 55+ companies. You would be joining at a particularly exciting stage of growth.
 

The Role

We are looking for a hands-on creative who loves making things. In this role, you’ll help bring our bio-embellishments and beaded fabrics to life through design, trend research, and hands-on making. You’ll turn concepts into high-quality prototypes, samples, and products that we create in-house and showcase to leading fashion and beauty brands. If you are passionate about sustainability and enjoy transforming ideas into real, tangible products, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

• Identify emerging embellishment shapes, colors, fashion and jewelry trends, and cultural zeitgeists. Turn that research and mood boards into viable product concepts.
• Help design and make sample books for our customers. Build beautiful, in-house prototypes of beaded garments, lace, jewelry, and interior pieces for marketing or concept/application display purposes.
•  Work directly with our biopolymers, transferring them into molds or creating beaded fabrics.  Apply an extreme attention to detail to ensure final prototypes are showcase-ready and of the highest quality.
•  Photograph our process and products to generate engaging content for our social media and website (mainly for stories and behind-the-scenes posts).
•  Assist with brand outreach and coordinate with design and beauty brands looking to order our products. Produce and send customized samples according to their specific requirements.

Who You Are

• A creative thinker with a portfolio of hands-on projects in fashion, jewelry, or product design.
• Passionate about sustainable materials and excited by our mission to reinvent how things are made.
• Experienced in ateliers or studios, comfortable with both creative and repetitive, detail-oriented production work.
• Able to communicate clearly and professionally with brand partners.
• Eager to learn new tools and techniques, from embroidery and beading to new digital design processes.
• Bonus: Experience in embellishment work such as embroidery and beading. Skills in CAD, 3D printing, or strong product photography.
