Histology Technician / Lab Technician (Dermatology – Mohs Surgery)

Our main clinic is located in Chaska, with satellite locations in Hutchinson and Shakopee. We are known for delivering high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered dermatologic care, including Mohs micrographic surgery and in-house frozen section dermatopathology services.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented histology technician or laboratory technician to join our team in Chaska. Based on the ideal candidate's preferences, this position can be tailored to be either:
- a part-time pure play laboratory position (2 days per week) or
- a hybrid full-time role with responsibilities in the laboratory and as a clinical care coordinator (4 or 4.5 days a week).
Immediate start date.
The laboratory role focuses on processing Mohs surgery specimens and frozen section biopsies in our in-house laboratory.
Laboratory Key Responsibilities:
- Accession specimens in our LIS
- Prepare and process frozen tissue specimens for Mohs micrographic surgery
- Gross, ink, freeze, section, stain, and mount tissue samples with accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain quality control and ensure proper labeling and documentation
- Maintain lab manuals, logs, order reagents,
- Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies
- Adhere to all safety, regulatory, and compliance standards
The Clinical Care Coordinator part consists of being a Clinical Care Coordinator with the following responsibilities:
- Answering patients calls/messages
- Contacting patients with biopsy and lab results and scheduling procedures
- Completing prior authorizations of biologics and artificial skin grafts
- Supervision of 4 clinical nursing staff, creation of clinical staff work schedule
- Drafting and editing of SOPs and other administrative tasks for the benefit of the clinic
Qualifications:
- familiarity with histology or laboratory technician work and best practices
- Experience with frozen sectioning is preferred but a talented applicant can also be trained on the job
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Willingness to take on leadership roles

Pay: Commensurate with prior experience $32-$35 / hr
