About the Organization:
The Asian Community Development Corporation (ACDC) invests in Asian American and low-income communities by creating and preserving affordable and vibrant neighborhoods in Chinatown and Greater Boston.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Operations Intern will gain hands-on experience working to improve the day-to-day operations of a mission-driven nonprofit. The Intern will provide general administrative and organizational support to the team, as well as execute projects that improve ACDC’s internal workflows and improve staff culture and efficiency. The Operations Intern will help grow capacity within ACDC’s newest department of Operations and Human Resources, working closely with the Director of Operations & HR and the Office Manager, while also supporting the larger ACDC team across a variety of departments.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Support the organizing of physical and digital files and office inventory
- Streamline internal workflows using tools like Microsoft Forms and SharePoint
- Create resource guides, checklists, and documentation of staff procedures to keep information accessible and organized
- Support improvement projects to promote staff culture, office space efficiency, and digital security
- Research systems for onboarding volunteers and managing relevant records
- Assist with planning internal meetings and teambuilding activities
- Provide general administrative and operational support as part of a collaborative team
Qualifications & Skills:
- Completion of at least one year of college
- Interest in ACDC’s mission and providing behind-the-scenes support
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Eager to take initiative, problem-solve, and work both independently and as a team member
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills, and ability support learning across diverse audiences
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
- Trustworthiness and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Ability to maintain professionalism in a multigenerational and multicultural office environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Availability to work in Boston on Wednesdays, especially from 11 AM – 1 PM is highly preferred
- Interest in exploring areas of information technology, education, nonprofit management, business management, and/or human resources
- Above-average technology skills
- Prior experience with Microsoft Sharepoint, Excel, and Asana is a plus
- Fluency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is beneficial, but not required

Time Commitment:
Approximately 10-12 hours a week. Shifts will normally occur during ACDC’s business hours from Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM.
The office will be closed for the following holidays: Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day (observed Jul 3), Labor Day, Indigenous Peoples’ Day, and Thanksgiving and the following day (Nov 26-27).
Compensation:
$17 per hour, with a maximum of 300 hours total over the employment period.
