Real Estate Intern

The general role of the Real Estate Intern is to actively assist in the analysis, valuation and management of prospective borrowers, strategic investments, and other portfolio assets actively and systematically. The Analyst will assist in market research, underwriting, system onboarding, and investment comparisons against relevant benchmarks, along with assisting in executing asset strategies. 

 

Key Responsibilities / Duties

  • Assist in research, due diligence, construction budget analysis, and loan evaluation;
  • Working closely with multiple departments in the organization including legal, underwriting, accounting, and finance;
  • Review and analyze appraisals, environmental reports, surveys, zoning and property condition reports;
  • Prepare analytical and tracking reports by updating portfolio data into cloud-based programs;
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to assess the risks, opportunities and weaknesses of loan collateral;
  • Participate in Loan Pipeline meetings, Underwriting meetings, Investment Committee, and Post-Closing meetings. 

 

Experience / Knowledge

  • Minimum 2 years of undergraduate degree completed
  • Degree concentrations in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Real Estate
  • Strong quantitative skills including fluency with Microsoft Excel
