Job Description
The Quality Engineering Intern supports quality, laboratory, and manufacturing operations in a regulated production environment. This internship provides hands-on exposure to quality engineering, process improvement, and manufacturing analytics while working closely with cross-functional teams. The intern will assist with data analysis, workflow optimization, and sustainability initiatives that drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
This role is ideal for college students interested in quality engineering, manufacturing systems, process optimization, or applied data analysis who are eager to learn in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct cycle time studies to identify workflow gaps, bottlenecks, and efficiency losses.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) data; collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify and reduce top losses.
- Review, update, and develop current-state and future-state process flow diagrams.
- Partner with Quality Control, Production, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to improve cross-functional workflows.
- Support the qualification and evaluation of sustainability projects focused on waste reduction, energy consumption, and water usage.
- Assist with data collection, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives within the quality and manufacturing environments.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related STEM field
- Demonstrated interest in quality engineering, manufacturing, or process improvement
- Comfortable working with data using Excel or similar analytical tools
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-based environment
- Eagerness to learn and contribute in a hands-on manufacturing setting
